For my latest assignment I felt that I should bring you all into the life of a celebrity. The fashion mayhem, the nervous jitters and the anxiety of getting ready for a major red carpet event… The Emmy’s!

I caught up with Emmy nominated ALMA Awarding winning Actress Eva La Rue. You all know her form “CSI:Miami” where she plays the smoking hot gun-totting Natalia Boa Vista. It was 7:00 am when I got Eva on her cell phone, she was on her way to LAX from her home in Malibu. Destination, Miami; No, not to shoot CSI:Miami (that’s done in Manhattan Beach) but for an ESPN event, perched in the back seat of a limo… Eva was now on Max time.. OK! Fashion News Live time, celebrities never get a minute to rest. Well, that goes for the good ones!

MT: Good morning EVA..
ELR: Good morning my lover love!!!
MT: Lets get right into this.. Getting Dresses and Undressed with Eva La Rue!
ELR: I love the title..
MT: (Laughs) I bet your guy fans wish they can say that..
ELR: Right!
MT: We all want to know how a celebrity’s day starts for an award show. How did your day start for the Emmy’s?

ELR: My day started early, way to early, my hair and makeup artist Allan Avendano came over at about 10:00 am we started with hair, Oh then my stylist came over with the DRESS! We wanted to figure out how we were going to do my hair.. so we messed around with it to see how we were going to like it with the dress..
MT: Did it take 3 hours to do hair and makeup?
ELR: No! (Laughs) Alan had to go do someone else at noon so he had to start me early.
MT:  Now the famous question.. Who did your dress?
ELR: The dress was designed by Ysa Makino a new designer (sighs) and I just thought he did a phenomenal, (pauses) phenomenal, freaking job.
MT: How many dresses were you presented before choosing this one?
ELR: Oh my gosh, at least 15 dresses.
MT: What made you choose Ysa’s ?
ELR: You know I almost didn’t go with the dress, this season is all about eye popping color, but then I thought about how classic it is to go with tone on tone, I though this dress was almost my skin color – and I was like this is it. I just fell in love with it and with the draping. I was going back and forth with this beautiful, electric, fantastic blue… but I just really love the old Hollywood, Grecian style of Ysa Makino.
MT: Do you think the dress you chose represents your style? You know much like your home in Malibu, the “Old Hollywood, The Classic 50’s Hollywood”?
ELR: ABSOLUTELY, ABSOLUTELY! It was sexy but not overly, in an old Hollywood way. I really love the beautiful ruching and draping.
MT: How did you feel when you put on the dress?
ELR: I felt ready, but then we went back and forth with the shoes, the jewelry. (Pauses) Oh My God what Jewelry! I ended up with these really great Erica Courtney (a lot of people were wearing Eric’s jewels)
MT: You also had a massive bracelet on, who did it?
ELR: Wow! (pauses) The bracelet was Chopard.
MT: Of course our buddies at Chopard. Did it cost as much as a car?
ELR: (Laughs) an apartment! That night my Jewels were in the $300k range but my jewelry, I was in for The ALMA’s’s were almost worth a cool Chopard Million!
MT: Go you!! How does it feel wearing a Million Dollars worth of Chopard?
ELR: (laughs) Scary!
(We both Laugh)
MT: Chopard totally hooked you up! Don’t you love that?
ELR: It’s always nice when you don’t have to spend money on jewelry and you can save it for your kids college!
(Eva has an 8 Year old daughter Kaya, that lives with her in Malibu)
MT: The bag?
ELR: Swarovski
MT: The shoes?
ELR: René Caovilla
MT: Of course!
MT: Eva, Your standing in front of the mirror, your car is outside waiting, What are you thinking?
ELR: (sighs) I was really excited- sometimes I get really nervous with how its gonna all work, but you have to run out the door and there’s no turning back.
MT: No turning back!
ELR: And there’s no changing it. But this time I felt really glamorous. I was ready to sing ‘West Side Stories” “I feel pretty”!
MT: You do so many red carpet events, but you always have a certain image, how would you define it?
ELR: It’s sexy in a conservative way.
MT: Do you play it safe?
ELR: Not safe because at 42 I can play it safer or “hip” (laughs) I feel I can get away with a lot more then some at my age.
MT: And you do!
MT: Now your limo pulls up, door opens and your stepping on the RED CARPET in your Ysa Makino gown how did you feel?
ELR: I felt really confident (pauses) really great this year & I can’t always say that. It is such a mad house at the Emmy’s but this year for the first time on any major red carpet, I felt really good.
MT: Do you ever get nervous on the red carpet after all it can make or break your image?
ELR: It is so nerve racking, It’s so exciting (pauses) overwhelming. It’s the most self-conscious thing you can possibly do in your life (giggles), That’s for sure!
MT: Remember when I was your date at the Emmy’s 2 years ago? I thought i was going to die, it was so freaking hot! – (Eva breaks in)

ELR: OH MY GOSH! (gasps) This year was the hottest, HOTTEST! awards I have ever been to in my life (hottest temperature) it was literary like 100 degrees and people were melting and I mean MELTING!
MT: Shit! that sounds nasty!
ELR: Oh My GOD! Your trying to look all hot and pretty and as nice as you can and I’ve got my hair stuck to my back it was so gross (laughing)
MT: (laughing) Let’s get back to glamour and styling, for the Oscar’s I styled you a bit.
ELR: And you were my hot date.
( we both laugh)
MT: We hooked you up.
ELR: YOU hooked me up!
MT: With my girl Pamela Dennis and one of my favorite luxury houses ever Asprey.
MT: At The Oscars you rocked it Pamela Denis, Asprey earrings and bracelet, and the Recession-ista bag by (drum roll)… Banana Republic!!!! Who styled you for the Emmy’s?
eva_la_rue_2307326
ELR: Oh this amazing guy George Bloodwell (pause) George looks like he is part of The Rolling Stones. Such a cool guy! He was so great. I feel as if I found “My Stylist” (pauses) when your not here! (we both laugh)
MT: I’m just so busy on the east coast.
ELR: I know how do you do it? Fashion News Live, Max & Friends (my radio show on www.LAtalkRadio.com shameless plug!), Your new Vodka (comes out in November).. How do you do it?
MT: (pause) Like Nike “Just Do IT”
ELR: (Laughs)
MT: OK so lets say your total value of the evening is about $325,000, what was your Master Card Priceless moment?
ELR: (long pause) That’s a good question! I’m going to have to say the Red Carpet Arrivals, it’s overwhelming and exciting all at the same time! You plan your whole day for that long walk.
MT: Stepping on that Red Carpet?

ELR: Yeah! (in a little girl’s voice)

MT: People shouting your name.. EVA! EVA! Over here!
ELR: (laughs)
MT: Did you ever think that one day Eva La Rue was going to be at the Emmy’s with people shouting her name?
ELR: NO! God No! I grew up in a horse town in Norco, with no money. It was a dream; then when your suddenly there it’s a shock! Every year it’s a shock that I’m there. I’ve been in this business for a long time and still am like WOW! It’s one of those crazy dreams.
MT: A crazy dream thats a total reality.
ELR: Yeah!
MT: What’s your advice for people who want your big dream?
ELR: Well, first of all it has to be your dream- It’s a heartbreaking business and it really is one of those things you feel like you  have to do or die. You have to be like “I HAVE TO DO THIS” You’ve got to want it and never give up! Don’t think your just gonna get up and be a STAR!
MT: I always say what you are looking for is looking for you! So stay focused!
ELR: So True.
MT: Do you dream bigger?
ELR: Yes!
MT: What’s your next dream?
ELR: More feature Films.
MT: You will get them my friend!
MT: Back to The Emmy’s the awards are over you get into the limo, destination… home!
ELR: Ahhhhh! I was exhausted!
MT: Did you kick your shoes off?
ELR:. Yes! Totally! Immediately ! It’s kind of nice at the end of the day to shed it off.
MT: I bet!
ELR: You feel like Cinderella, clock strikes mid-night and you have to give it all back.
MT: Did you want that clock to strike any sooner?

ELR: The clock struck perfectly. From the Emmy’s to the US WEEKLY party (pause) Now that was a blast Mary J. Blige performed… It ended perfectly.
MT: Perfectly! Now you get home what’s the first thing you do?
ELR: (laughs) Get undressed.
MT: “Getting Dressed and Undressed with Eva La Rue”!
ELR: The first thing I did was put on a pair of boxer shorts (laughs) and a big t-shirt.
MT: And called it a night!
ELR: And called it a night!
At this point Eva has arrived at LAX on her way to MIA! So I had to wrap it up!
MT: Before I let you bounce (after all you are going to Miami). What can you tell me about “Natalia Boa Vista”?
ELR: I’ve got so much going on, so does the show (CSI:Miami) season 8, cast changes which was sad.. all I can say is your just gonna have to watch the drama unfold!
MT: Well Eva La Rue you always know how to ROCK THE RED CARPET!
ELR: Aww! Thank you lover love!
MT: Thank you my love… and have a safe flight!
Eva was off, off to go through security at LAX. After getting dressed that morning; TSA made Eva get undressed all over again! The joy’s of travel!  My next interview.. Getting Dressed and Undressed with Eva La Rue at LAX!
