Sarah Jessica Parker for President… of Halston!

Is Halston rolling over in his grave? or is he updating his quote to… “A designer is only as good as the people “SHE” dresses”.. Sarah Jessica Parker, has become President/Chief Creative Office of Halston. No campaign banners reading SJP for 2010!! From Movies to TV to Perfumes to Designing! Remember Bitten? (SJP apparel line she launched in 2007.) These days who cares if you go to FIT or Parsons, all you have to do is have a quirky sense of style and you to can become President of a major fashion house. 

SJP in a statement said, “I think this is a brand new kind of business model and it illustrates how serious I am about this position. I think it’s wonderful to feel invested in something. I tend not to just endorse something. I like feeling the stakes.” going on to saying, ”I know I come to the company in a rather unorthodox way but I am not the first to be president of a company without the traditional background. Others have been successful in those endeavors and I do so hope I can be as well.”

This is not the first time an “actress” has taken a job at a major fashion house. Remember last year, Lindsay Lohan took a position at Emanuel Ungaro. Looks like Lindsay paved the way for Sarah! 

Oh and by the way Sarah, it is Halston’s name you are approving not yours, Make him proud.
