Diane Von Furstenburg / Fall 2010

In 1970, with a $30,000 investment, DVF began designing women’s clothes.
Once in an interview with Diane Sawyer, she said, “I have yet to meet a woman who is not strong. They don’t exist”.
It is this attitude towards women that has been so substantial to DVF’s success. Her designs are always inspired by a love for creating garments which flatter, empower and inspire the wearer*

Above: What I like about this collection is DVF’s unique twist on the asymetrical shoulder. By using extra fabric around the top of these garments and creating a ‘slouchy’ drape, she was able to achieve a flattering off-shoulder look, keeping with the trends but maintaining an original point of view.
Also note the dress on the left – very, very much reflecting the ‘liquid silver’ trend we saw alot of this season.
