NYC premiere of ‘The Runaways’

The city that never sleeps is home to some of the greatest movie premieres and Wednesday night (March 17th) was no exception!

At the sexy premiere of ‘The Runaways’ Kristen Stewart donned a strapless Pucci dress with Sergio Rossi pumps while her co-star, Dakota Fanning wore a nude Elie Saab hand-embroidered, cocktail dress with cap sleeves.

The event, which welcomed guests with a black carpet at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema, attracted lots of fellow musicians who came out to show support for the movie.

Rock star guests included Joan Jett and Cherie Currie who are members of ‘The Runaways’ (The group which the movie is based upon), singer Debbie Harr, DJs Geordon Nicol, Leigh Lezark and Greg Krelenstein of ‘The Misshapes’ as well as members from the pop-punk band ‘Care Bears on Fire’. (Yowsers, what a name!)

A few celebrities made it out as well including Julianne Moore, Chloe Sevigny, Dreama Walker, Paz de la Huerta as well as super models Alessandra Ambrosio and Julie Henderson.

The Fashion World’s, Tommy Hillfiger was the host of the event along with Quintessentially.

“The Runaways” is based on the 1970s all-girl rock band of the same name, which were brought together in late 1975 by impresario Kim Fowley. The film covers the formation of The Runaways through to Cherie’s departure at the peak of their success. The film will arrive in limited U.S. theaters on March 19 before opening wide on April 9.
