Not Your Grandmother’s Purse

Lanvin’s “Happy” Bag, the new “it” purse about Hollywood, certainly has a sophistication to it.  It reminds me of something you would see a posh g-ma wearing with a string of pearls and a tweed suit a la Madame Chanel.  But this peppy purse is part of a trend we are seeing alot for Fall 2010.  Polished and classic accessories such as pearls, long leather gloves, and very lady-like handbags are paired with bohemian long skirts, or denim to add an element of surprise.  Classic items such as this recall a 50s couture style, and the combination with a boho or austere look will keep your outfit modern.  Celebs such as Katie Holmes, Jessica Alba, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Reese Witherspoon have been photographed on numerous occasions with the Lanvin bag. The popularity could indicate a nostalgic trend toward a time when we were all young girls playing dress-up in grandma’s pearls.  Add a pair of loafers and cat framed specs and we are in business.
