What’s in Your Beauty Bag?
Lately, I’ve been getting asked a lot about the cosmetic products/makeup that I use for my face. Friends and even strangers will ask what moisturizers I use, makeup foundations I prefer, which lip glosses I rock, and even how to add my “glow” to their face.
I am no expert–flattered yes. But, I am just a consumer like everybody else who has invested an incredible amount of money over the years trying to find the right products for me. I have learned that it isn’t about what type of makeup you use. Great skin is the result of proper management. After visiting a dermatologist last year, I learned the importance behind maintaining healthy skin. This doesn’t require over-the counter chemical treatments or $100 facials.
Skin Fact 1: Did you know that every time you go to sleep without washing your makeup off, your skin ages 9 days? Whether this is true or not, let’s not risk finding out!
Skin Fact 2: Every single time you tan in a sunless bed, you are killing off hundreds and thousands of skin cells that are forever gone. This not only damages your skin, but it also causes your skin to age faster. I quit tanning over a year ago and my skin has improved 100%. Quit today!
Here are most of my everyday products that I use for my skin and face!

1. Compact mirror $10— I think it’s important to carry a compact mirror with you everywhere you go. Everytime we ask a girlfriend for hers, germs are being transmitted and carried onto your face.
2. Almay Line Smoothing Concealer ($10 CVS)–A tip: I use a small amount of this under my eyes and LOVE this lightweight formula for my lips. Add a gloss for shine and it’s great for achieving nude lips without the clump.
3. Cetaphil ($12 CVS)– This cleanser and moisturizer were both recommended by my dermatologist. Their light weight formula is gentle on the skin and perfect for cleansing away dirt and oil after your long days! Don’t forget to mosturize!
4. Boots Mattifying Base ($12 Target)– This primer holds your foundation AND keeps shine under control! I apply a small amount in my t-zone area before applying my foundation. It’s also great to stick into your purse before a night out just in case your face builds oil or sweat.
5. Clean&Clear Sheets ($5 CVS)–These are great to have on the go! These oil sheets absorb the oil from your face without ruining your makeup! Simply use and toss. No messy clean-up.
6. Sephora Shine ($9)–This lip gloss by Sephora is amazing. Coverage lasts hours and it tastes delicious!
7. Make Up Forever Concealer ($30 Sephora)– This concealer works magic!!! It’s thick waterproof coverage stays on all day. It covers anything from scars, blemishes, and dark circles to tattoos!
8. Maybelline XXL PRO ($6 CVS)- This mascara is my favorite. It enhances your eye-lashes XXL.
9. Bare Minerals ($22)– This is the only foundation I have and will ever use. With the right primer and concealer as a base, bare minerals provides you with all day coverage. It is also the healthiest foundation for your skin.
10. Mini Germ X ($2)–you are probably wondering why this is in our must-haves. It is important to sanitize through out your busy day to ensure that your hands are clean before you touch your face!
There you have it! Hope this helps! What do you think about my must-haves?? xo
