Secret to Long Lasting Makeup

Primers are the key to long, lasting makeup. I very much dislike retouching because not only does it add more weight to my bag but also is a waste of time! Finding the right primer for you is the secret to less maintenance throughout the day. Therefore, here are some of my favorite primers on the market.

MAC Eye Shadow Primer in Painterly $16.50

I would have to say the most popular eye shadow primers out there are the Painterly Paint Pot and Urban Decay’s Primer Potion ($18). Urban Decay swears that their primer potion does not crease but for some reason when I wear it, it DOES! Painterly is a cream but gives a powdery finish. The 12 hour wear prevents my makeup from creasing throughout the day. I’ve had the most success using paint pots and will never go back!

MAC Prep+Prime Lip $14.50

Apply this to prevent your lips from feathering! I apply it on my lip line as well as all over the lips to ensure a long lasting lip color. You want it let it set for about 60 seconds before applying lipliner and lipstick. All you makeup artists out there—keep this is your makeup kit. This will save your life! Say NO to bleeding lips.

Murad Matte Primer  $35

I have recently discovered this amazing product from Murad’s Hybrid (combined makeup and skincare) line. This has a light tint that looks good on just by itself. After 15 minutes of wearing it this product will firm your skin up to 50%. Amazingness
