From July 19th to the 24th cocktails and models will be flowing across the Miami beaches in this years 2012 Miami Swim Week.
For a six-day period, Miami will be taking over by the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim at the Raleigh, as well as the Swimwear Association of Florida’s 30th-anniversary Swim Show located at the Miami Beach Convention Center. We also know that all in attendance will make some time for some relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Florida.
This year IMG will be hosting 32 designers, the most that has ever been in a single event in their 8-year history of the event. Christina Neault, the executive producer for IMG Fashion said: “We squeezed in more through two group shows with four collections each and press previews in the hotel’s penthouse.”
The venue this year will open with Lisa Blue on Thursday night filled with Chinese dragons dancing around the runway, with other classic brands such as Vitamin A and ANK afterwards. Agua Bendita, Cote D’Or, Suboo, Rose by Vanessa Jean and Eclairee will be showing their international and national lines and after IMG will host their Sunday pool party that offers rare consumer promotion during their trade-only market style place event.

After the events on Sunday night at the convention center, the SwimShow 2013 is getting a large dose of funk with a eighties disco blast with everything from lights to celeb impersonators. This year there are also expected to be 100 new vendors, which according to the SAF executive director Judy Stein is the larget amount for the segment in their history.
With all of these events occurring there will be over 2,500 exhibitors including swimwear, lingerie, resort wear, and beach accessories.
“We’re using every square inch of the floor,” she said, turning away latecomers after selling out in record time. “It proves swim’s resilience as an affordable indulgence that speaks summer and the category’s embracement of change.” – Judy Stein
