True Religion Apparel Inc.’s next stop for its business ventures is in Brazil South America.
Sao Paulo, the largest city in Brazil as well as home to the Sao Paulo Fashion Week is getting ready for a denim upgrade.
The Vernon, Calif. Based jean / sportswear company has signed with TRX Brazil for distribution. This year has been a huge year of growth for the company seeing that a new rise of 140 new stores has been opened (116 State side vs. 24 overseas). Other major venues internationally for the company can be found in Canada, Ireland, Austria, and Japan. This year alone True Religion opened new venues in Spain, Madrid, Morocco, and Taiwan with local partners.
The deal signed gives TRX exclusive distributor rights and overseeing the international growth will be Giuliano Sartori (vice president of international).
The president of the company Lynne Koplin has high hopes for his management skill saying he will “build our international business on a solid foundation so it produces sustainable operating profits for years to come. Our international priorities include working with successful established partners, merchandising each key market to accommodate their local preferences, and planning and pricing our product strategically.”
Outside of the U.S. (Which sales on the mainland have been suffering) the company’s sales have risen 114%! To try and push the international campaign even further True Religion has announced a new campaign shot by Nino Munoz and styled from Katie Mossman. The featured models will include Emily DiDonato and Ryan Heavyside in a theme entitled “the reinvention of American Classics.” Magazines including Vouge, InStyle, Elle, Vanity Fair, GQ, and Esquire will include this campaign.
