Dubai Unveils the World Largest Shoe Store

Level Shoe District, the new kingpin for the title of Worlds Largest Shoe Store has established their new market in Dubai.

The store is over 96,000 square feet in total and offers customers over 15,000 different styles at any given time.  The title of Largest Shoe Store was no small victory, Level is over double the size of the previous title holder being Selfridges in London and Macy’s in New York.

Inside of the store, the products are split into four areas: Women’s designer, Women’s contemporary, men’s, and trends.

“This is a place for people who are passionate about shoes, who are addicted to shoes, who are obsessed about shoes,” said Patrick Chalhoub, chief executive officer of Chalhoub Group.  Level Shoe District is a family owned company who also owns more than 450 luxury retails spaces across the Middle East.

The store is utilizing many different techniques in its marketing including having the spring collection of Louis Vuitton about 5 weeks before it shows up anywhere else in the world.  Level will also be launching a concept sub-store where they will hold local and regional brands from talented Middle Eastern Designers.  After doing the research it was clear to the family and company that a shoe specific department store would pay off.

“Footwear is one of the fastest developing in luxury,” said Patrick Chalhoub. “We are in an era where people are paying much more attention to the shoes they wear. It’s a growing market and has been developing even throughout the crisis because people do not stop dreaming. People aspire to a better life, people aspire for luxury, for quality.”

The store is about 80% complete and will announce an opening date in the future.  The Vouge Café  (Operated by Condé Nast Restaurants) will be open by this December.
