Shop: Healthy Skin-What's in Your Beauty Bag? Shopping
What's in Your Beauty Bag? Lately, I've been getting asked a lot about the cosmetic products/makeup that I use for my face. Friends and even strangers will ask what moisturizers I use, makeup foundations I prefer, which lip glosses I rock, and even how to add my "glow" to their face. I am no expert--flattered yes. But, I am just a consumer like everybody else who has invested an incredible amount of money over the years trying to find the right products for me. I have learned that it isn't about what type of makeup you use. Great skin is the result of proper management. After visiting a dermatologist last year, I learned the importance behind maintaining healthy skin. This doesn't...

H&M and Lanvin Collaboration? We Think So...

H&M and Lanvin Collaboration? We Think So... Fashion
The rumor mill is speeding slightly faster today as H&M gears up to announce it's newest collaborator on September 9th. H&M has also caused some fashion nail biting by releasing some teaser footage. The videos feature shadowy speakers some thought to resemble Bottega Veneta's, Tomas Maier and another Carolina Herrera. But of course these clips are indeed teasers as September 9th flashes at the very end, H&M would not be so forthright as to let us know upfront about the collaboration. Many sources claim that if you pay close attention to the voice overs they are incredibly similar to quotations from interviews with Lanvin's Alber Elbaz. If this is true, we should all fall to our knees in gratitude. A...

Bull in a China Shop Shopping
For the fashion forward cook, French Bull breaks the boring kitchenware mold, anarchy style. This lifestyle brand is the baby of former children's fashion designer Jackie Shapiro, who also worked with Milan fashion house Fiorucci.  The line is made of melamine which is shatterproof, resistant to high heat, and fares well over time, in case you really do have bulls in your china shop (some people like to call them kids).  In a variety of colorful prints, the kitchenware can be mixed and matched in a variety of ways, adding a playful element to any table. The Power of Emmy

The Power of Emmy Events
Stepping out of the limo on the Red Carpet at the 2010 Emmy's I immediately was blinded by the sun, flashing cameras and photographers shouting to the celebs around me like Tina Fey, Anne Margaret, Keiffer Sutherland, and Kim Kardashian. Everywhere you looked was someone famous and those that weren't were walking as slow as possible to take it all in while security constantly shouted to move it along, forcing the crowd into the Nokia Theater. My Angela Johnson RockStar Vintage recycled TShirt ball gown quickly became a focal point, with everyone wanting to know who made it, and if they could take a picture of it. The hoop skirt underneath gave it a Princess...

MB York's EMMY Preparation at Oliver Ifergan's Beverly Hills! Events
Just landed in LA, and raced over to the Oliver Ifergan Salon in Beverly Hills on Robertson to have Brooke Sholberg style my hair for the EMMY'S. Oliver Ifergan is the newest salon to carry my signature MB YORK BEAUTY AMMO KITS after meeting at the Angeleno Magazine Poolside Beauty Event. Since I was late as usual, and worried about the limo line, Brooke sprayed the signature Oliver Ifergan dry shampoo at the roots, and then pin-curled my hair using the strong hold WTF hairspray. After shaking it all out and teasing it to the sky, I felt empowered, and ready to elbow any one in my way for the great photo opts ahead. Michelle Holmes the freelance make-up artist...

Manifesting the Perfect Dress Fashion
After getting the invite to go to the EMMYS to network and promote my upcoming movie, MB YORK SURVIVAL OF THE PRETTIEST, of course I was soon on the hunt for the perfect dress. I turned to both my Scottsdale stylist Jill DeAndrea and my Malibu Vintage stylist CeCe Abel and asked them both to be on the lookout for anything AWESOME vintage that was totally me. As the new beauty host for FashionNewsLive I was already working with them both getting my NY wardrobe together for interviews at the upcoming Spring 2011 NY Fashion Week.
