The celebrity designer and fashion magazine hosted a masquerade royal ball over the holiday weekend.
I must say, this year, celebrities really committed to their costumes. Some of our favorite stars dressed up in costumes inspired from the Wizard of Oz characters, famous band members, zombie killing television characters, and many more creative characters.
I must say, this year, celebrities really committed to their costumes. Some of our favorite stars dressed up in costumes inspired from the Wizard of Oz characters, famous band members, zombie killing television characters, and many more creative characters. I’ll start off with one of my favorites (only because I’m quite obsessed with The Walking Dead). Modern Family star, Sarah Hyland, channeled Maggie Greene and her boyfriend, Matt Prokop, found his inner Glenn this Halloween.
Next, we have Hugh Hefner and his wife, Crystal Hefner. The pair dressed up as Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke from the oh so scandalous VMA Awards this year. And of course Crystal had to sport the famous “tongue out” Miley pose.
Two couples were inspired by the Wizard of Oz this year. Gisele dressed up as Dorothy and Tom Brady dressed up as the Cowardly Lion. Their costumes were super cute and Gisele’s picnic basket with a stuffed Toto was adorable. Snooki wore a Dorothy costume and fiancé, Jionni, dressed up as the scarecrow. And their son, Lorenzo, looked precious as the lion.
New parents, Fergie and Josh Duhamel went all out for their Halloween costumes. The singer dressed up as a sexy Elvira and her husband accompanied her as Riff Raff. The pair was almost unrecognizable in their over the top costumes.
Lauren Conrad and fiancé, William Tell, dressed up as the tooth fairy and ironically, a dentist. Conrad looked pretty and innocent in a tulle all-over dress, chic top bun, and glittery makeup.
Cindy Crawford and husband, Rande Gerber looked cool and funky in their Slash and Axl Rose costumes. Is it bad that we kind of love Cindy decked out in tattoos and a big, curly afro? The pair pulled off their looks flawlessly. Absolutely loved their costumes.

Even though the week isn’t exactly over, we just couldn’t wait for this gorgeous look. Our favorite look from this week surprisingly comes from little miss Miley Cyrus.
Even though the week isn’t exactly over, we just couldn’t wait for this gorgeous look. Our favorite look from this week surprisingly comes from little miss Miley Cyrus. The “Wrecking Ball” singer looked beautiful in an all-over sequined, green Marc Jacobs gown at Fashion Group International’s 30th annual Night of Stars event. The shimmery dress draped perfectly around her waist and even though it conservatively covered up her crotch, stomach, and chest (all of which we know Miley has no shame showing), it was still super sexy with an extremely low-cut back. The gown tastefully showed off the right amount of skin and was nip slip proof unlike some of her past outfit choices. She paired the gown with subtle/natural looking makeup, simple and slicked back hair, and black ankle-strap sandals. Love, love, love everything about this look.

This year’s Emmy Award attendees showed off some of the best red carpet looks we’ve seen. We loved all the different trends including lace, sheer, bright colors, soft pastels and nude tones, and even saw a couple midriffs. We’ll start with our absolute favorite, none other than People’s choice for the ‘World’s Best Dressed Woman,’ Kerry Washington. She held her title in this Marchesa stunner. She glowed in the light cream gown with gold, lace detail on the bodice and flower appliques flowing down the bottom of the dress to the train. She topped the look off with a pale pink, gold accented clutch, and simple, gold jewelry. The gown was straight from the runway and according to USA Today, Washington said she fell in love with the dress as soon as she saw it at the Spring 2014 Marchesa Fashion Show. We loved how she kept her hair, makeup, and accessories very simple so that all of our attention was on that gorgeous gown.
Another look we loved was from Sofia Vergara. Seriously, what’s not to love about her and her red carpet looks. She showed off her famous hourglass figure in a red, Vera Wang gown. She accessorized the mermaid style gown with bright green jewels.
One of the most popular trends we saw on the red carpet was pretty pastels. And Claire Danes sported this trend fabulously. Danes’ Armani Prive gown was intricate, delicate, and sparkly. The gown featured multiple textures with crystal embellished straps, the clear, sequined top half of the dress and the lace fabric on the bottom half of the dress. Even though we’re crazy about her faux bob hairstyle, we loved her simple jewelry choice and pop of color, red lip.
Julianne Hough looked gorgeous a super sheer, a Jenny Packham gown. The off-the-shoulder gown was covered in crystals and showed off her tiny waist with an embellished belt. Even though the dress was extremely sheer, it was classy, elegant, and very unique. We loved her small, crystal clutch and simple, beachy waves.
One of my personal favorites was Kate Mara’s J.Mendel gown. The long-sleeved gown was right on trend with lace-detailed, sheer panels going across the top part of the gown. We loved the thigh-high slit that showed off her Charlotte Olympia open-toe ‘Pomeline’ platform heel.

A Tracy Reese dress can make any woman look great, but Michelle Obama looked absolutely amazing (as always) at the Let Freedom Ring Commemoration. The black A-line dress looked summery with its rose print.
A Tracy Reese dress can make any woman look great, but Michelle Obama looked absolutely amazing (as always) at the Let Freedom Ring Commemoration in Washington, DC. The black A-line dress looked summery with its rose print. This isn’t the first time that the First Lady has worn Tracy Reese, but choosing a dress by an African American designer for this event seemed like the perfect match. And Reese was excited that Michelle Obama chose to wear another one of her dresses for the special day. In a release she stated, “We are honored that the First Lady would choose to wear one of our designs during the celebration of such a deeply significant historical moment.” And the fact that Michelle Obama always looks glowing in Reese’s designs is a bonus. If you loved the First Lady’s look as much as we did, it’s still available on the Tracy Reese site for $498. Better get it quick because it’s sure to sell out in no time.

Aside from all of the craziness that happened at the MTV Video Music Award show (Miley Cyrus’ performance, Katy Perry flashing a gold grill, Lady Gaga looking elegant and surprisingly fully clothed on the red carpet) can we please talk about our favorite looks from the red carpet?
Aside from all of the craziness that happened at the MTV Video Music Award show (Miley Cyrus’ performance, Katy Perry flashing a gold grill, Lady Gaga looking elegant and surprisingly fully clothed on the red carpet) can we please talk about our favorite looks from the red carpet? We’ll start with our favorite of the night, Selena Gomez. The singer looked flawless in an Atelier Versace gown that showed off the perfect amount of skin. The long-sleeved, floor-length gown had a peak-a-boo flap that revealed a sequined corset. The thigh-high slit showed off her metallic, pointed-toe pumps. From head to toe, she nailed it.
Two stars rocked the see-through dress trend-Iggy Azalea and Ciara. They both effortlessly pulled of their looks. Azalea wore a see-through Emilio Pucci dress with perfectly placed gold appliqués and Ciara’s Givency see-through ensemble was embellished in zippers, sequins and feathers.
Even though A$AP Rocky looked amazing in head-to-toe Dior with a Hermes belt, his date, Chanel Iman stole the spotlight in a plunging v-neck J. Mendel gown. The model looked glowing in this metallic, shimmery long-sleeved dress.

The youngest member of the Jenner/Kardashian clan celebrated her 16th birthday this past weekend. The birthday party was more of a concert with performances by Drake and Big Sean. Many celebrities were in attendance including Willow and Jaden Smith, Tyga, and her famous parents and sisters (well three of them at least). The only sister missing was Kim Kardashian, but she made sure to wish Kylie a “Happy Birthday” via a video message. In addition to great party guests, every birthday girl needs a fabulous birthday outfit. And Kylie did not disappoint. The 16-year-old wore an all black ensemble by Thierry Mugler and Nicholas. Her Alice in Wonderland themed birthday was planned by celebrity event planner Sharon Sacks. Not only did Kylie throw probably the best birthday party of the year, but she also helped provide gifts for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles all in one night. Instead of asking for birthday gifts, Kylie asked guests to bring toys for the hospital. And if that wasn’t enough, guests received goodie bags that included IPod speakers, jewelry, makeup, and more. But Kylie’s guests weren’t the only ones receiving. After passing her driving test, Kylie received a matte black Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV.
